I have recently purchased my first Angel Sword without ever having seen or handled one in person, not knowing what I would be getting made the thrill of recieving it an exciting experience. I like to use my swords for cutting, and having read what people were saying about Angel Swords made me curious. The swords have to be tough. But what really attracted me were the unique designs and artistic elements of the swords. Truly unlike swords made from any other maker out there.
Upon recieving the sword a whole week earlier then I was led to believe.... I was amazed at the fit and finish of the sword, and the incredible handling. It instantly felt significantly lighter than its specifications would indicate. It is extremely sharp, and I've no doubt it would be an excellent cutter. I am impressed. I've already got another piece on layaway and I expect my collection to grow.

As a practitioner and instructor of traditional Japanese long sword techniques I am always on the lookout for weapons with both beauty and function. I have held blades from many other makers and none have instilled the same confidence as the Angelswords. I have seen several practitioners ruin their swords in Tameshigiri competitions. When one can swing a sword without concern for the monetary investment in their weapon, but swing with the full intent to cut their target…it’s like no other feeling in the world. I am currently the proud owner of several Angelsword blades in different lines of steel, practicing and performing with all of them. I often host Tameshigiri events at my home for friends, students, and colleagues to use both their own weapons and a select few of my own. When switching from a lesser sword of another maker to a Bright Knight many would look at the sword in disbelief at the ease with which the sword cut the target. One student exclaimed "Note to self, when you aren’t good enough, buy better equipment." and one of my colleagues said after his turn with the Bright Knight "Wow, this sword is really nice, everyone needs to try cutting with this sword, seriously." We put as many targets up as my stand could handle (8 wara from Bugei) and one of my friends and myself took a few swings. Only two of the nine attempts didn’t make it through all the targets, and only because of user error. On the successful attacks we both felt like there was nothing in the path of the sword. Over half the people that attempted cutting that day had never trained in any martial art before. With little more than 2 minutes of instruction from me they were able to cut a single target with ease, a test of skill often reserved for students having trained for a full year. There just really isn’t anything quite like an Angelsword product. Aaron Sua |

I have had my Bright Knight Katana for almost 4 years now. I have cut numerous branches ranging from barely pinky size to almost an inch in diameter....and of course it went through it like butter. Also I have done a few cutting demos with my sword at scarby, and have even gone to one of Daniel's sword seminars last year, where we did lots of cutting on tatami mats. I have never had it sharpened....yet. I can still perfectly slice a business card and filet it.....just as easily as when i first bought it. I LOVE my sword....I can't wait till I can afford more. I own 3 blades from Angel Sword, and my wife and I are very pleased with each one. The overall construction is more superior than any other blades I have handled or purchased in the past. The first thing that I noticed with AS blades is that each blade has a solid fit in its construction with a lot of attention to detaill, fit and finish. My first purchase was a European Broad sword Bright Knight series. I have been cutting mats with this sword for over a year and its handle is still firm and does not wiggle when grasped like other swords I have used. The cutting edge is still as sharp as the day I bought it. Daniel does some amazing work; if you ever get a chance to visit Angel Sword at the Fairs be sure to stop by and handle a few blades, and I know you will be impressed too.
